Biogs

ade - bass

Adrian was born and did some stuff. Some of the stuff he did involved playing bass in Beautiful Life Frog's Life, Good Grief and Amphetamine Shrinkage. He went walkabout a few years ago, but has now returned as the prodigal bassist of the all-new Beautiful Life. Other stuff he did included selling records, going to footy and being vegan. He hates Bracknell.

chris - drums

Chris was minding his own business, an innocent schoolboy in a small town when he was abducted by a couple of punks and sat behind a drum kit. Too scared to say no, he began his time as drummer for Smog UK. Nearly fifteen years later (scary!), he has never fully recovered and now has a rather unhealthy obsession with all things round, loud and shiny. His life consists of drums, kite buggying and building websites - if you like this one then get in touch with him and he'll do you a deal.... blatant plug over now, sorry.

craig - mandolin

Craig was first encountered roaming the nether reaches of the Itchen River, a battered banjo in one hand and a battery in the other. After years of unsuccessful rehabilitation, he was declared incorrigible, and sentenced to hard guitar labour in Strange the Butcher. Following his spectacular escape, and in order to halt the progress of his seething paroxysms, he underwent an operation to bisect his vestigial brain. His left brain now plays mandolin like a heathen, while the dumb right, which can communicate only through a USB port under his tongue, records filthy techno as One Dollar Baby.

joe - guitar & vocals

Writes most of the words to the songs, talks a lot. Holds a weapon of mass reproduction in his hands every time he takes a leak.

stu - fiddle, guitar & vocals

Following an appearance on BBC1's "Songs of Praise" in the 1980's, Stuart quickly became dissolusioned with the world of corporate entertainment. Turning his back on a life of occasional weekend gigs and tea + cakes with the vicar, he formed SMOG UK as a protest at having to pay to get into gigs. Seeing the financial savings potential of this endeavour, he also had a hand in other such illustrious(local) musical ventures including Sam Saturn and the Stardust Sensations, Frog's Life, Beautiful Life(part 1), Lewinski, Stu-Dent and the Wankers and the Ted Kennedys . Having made a massive financial loss as a result of spending much more behind the bar when he was playing than if he had just payed to go and watch bands, he refused to see the error of his ways and was persuaded(over a cup of tea and a slice of cake) to join the new incarnation of Beautiful Life, with the offer of a life of occasional weekend gigs that he didn't have to pay to get into.

tony - beeps & strange noises

After shouting for Glam-Punks UX Diver, who played to the same 6 people and a dog as Strange the Butcher, Tony later howled for Sam Saturn and the Stardust Sensations – as a result of drunkenly invading a Smog UK gig. Scarred by his complete lack of ability, he shunned the company of Humans and retreated into his own mind, creating misanthropic techno as Toluene. But now, under the advice of his therapist, is attempting to re-integrate with society. He is almost completely medication free.
